Message I searched everywhere and could not figure out what was causing hesitation for a few months. The car would not accelerate consistently, sometimes it would buck, sometimes it would backfire, accelerate a couple thousand rpm then decelerate, it was all over the place. So because I tried everything I began to question the integrity of the components, swapping out the ecu, coolant sensor, O2 sensors, TPS.... when I got to the CAS I noticed the splines were worn out so I changed it and it did help but only very little, then I came back to it a month later and swapped out the only thing I didn't replace yet the MAF, that fixed it perfectly.

also.......

A few years ago I had a dying alternator that caused hesitation only after I had come to a stop then took off again (it would hesitate because the voltage dropped) but when cruising or accelerating after some time above idle it would "clear up", then I changed the alternator after measuring idle voltage at only 12.5 volts: fixed it right up lol

*disclaimer*: all that I say may be true or I may be completely wrong and I accept that.... please, it is your duty as another person on the internet to impolitely tell me how wrong I am :)
